Battlefield 5 is still alive and well. Battlefield 4 is dwindling. I would recommend 5 for its great physics and gameplay and uniqueness to hold you until BF6 this year. I still play BF4 regularly and it seems pretty good. The only downside is that like once or twice a month servers are kinda depopulated.

It would be great to have offline bots to help newer players get used to the game and if your internet isn't working there is always offline mode. Using bots to fill up space would be a great way to get people to play less populated servers. inb4 Metro/Locker 24/7 bots meat grinder, 32 players vs 32 bots.
